Hi crafty friends! I am super excited to not only be part of this amazing blog hop celebrating Jane’s new release, but also to announce that I’ll be joining the Jane’s Doodles Design Team! Now for today I have two cards to share using the stamps from the latest release!
The first card is a CAS card that only took me 15 minutes to make start to finish. It uses the gorgeous Hygge Time stamp set and I stamped a couple of the images onto die cut squares from Clairefontaine DCP 250 gsm cardstock. I stamped everything in Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed them with WOW Clear Gloss Super Fine embossing powder. To put the yarn on top of the books I stamped and embossed the yarn first, then cut a mask and stamped and embossed the books.
To add color to the backgrounds I used some alcohol markers and did two layers for each color to get a nice smooth finish. I propped them all up on foam squares after stamping the sentiment right onto the cardbase again with Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear embossed.
The next card is a little more intricate. I used the Wild Winter stamp set and stamped a couple of the images onto Clairefontaine DCP 250 gsm cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored them in with my alcohol markers. I stuck to a limited color scheme throughout, using soft browns for the critters and some grey for the elephant of course and all my accents are green and orange, this helps keep the design cohesive.
For my background I die cut two mini slimline panels with the Pinkfresh Studio Mini Slimline Essentials die set, one from light blue cardstock and one from white cardstock. I fussy cut a snowy hill border from the white one (this just makes it so I have the same stitched detail all the way around my card) and blended some Mist ink by Reverse Confetti from the bottom up to give some definition to the snow. For the sky I used Iced Aqua and Royal Navy also by Reverse Confetti to darken up the top.
I then used the Snowflakes stamp set, also from the latest Jane’s Doodles release and stamped them onto the sky in Versamark ink and embossed them with WOW Mermaid Tails embossing glitter. This is a silver embossing powder with teal and holographic glitter in it, it’s absolutely stunning. I didn’t prep my cardstock with an anti static powder bag beforehand because I wanted some glitter and embossing powder everywhere to be tiny snowflakes. I propped that panel up onto 4 layers of thick white cardstock and glued it onto my mini slimline cardbase with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue. I then used foam tape to prop up the snowy hill and the critters as well.
I wanted to let you know that Jane’s Doodles also has a -20% sale going on from today till Sunday the 21st! Now as I mentioned at the start of this blog post, this is part of a blog hop. So if you want to see more amazing inspiration for this new release hop along here. And make sure that you leave comments along the way because there’s a giveaway as well: one winner will be randomly selected from the comments and they win one stamp set of their choice! How awesome is that?
Order of the hop
