Hello crafty friends! I am so so excited to be part of the Waffle Flower December Challenge. This week is all about Winter Birthday Cards for Her and I’m happy to share my take on the challenge with you guys today.
For this card I used a couple of different Waffle Flower products but I started with the Love You Bunnies stamp set. Now, this part is hard to explain because I altered the image quite a bit with masking, so I highly recommend you also watch the video linked below! Because I wanted my bunny image to be one layered even with the accessories, I have to do some masking. That means I have to stamp the hat and the scarf before the bunny. To get the placement right I put a scrap piece of paper in my Misti with the bunny stamped on it as is. I can use that as a guide to line up the other images and stamp them on my good piece of Canson Montval 200 gsm watercolor cardstock.
I stamp everything in Versafine Onyx Black ink and emboss each image with WOW Clear Gloss Super Fine embossing powder, heatsetting each part before masking it off and moving on to the next. To alter the position of the ears I inked the stamp up partially and stamped the ears after stamping the hat, then I stamped the scarf, then the bunny, then the birthday cake. I colored it in with my Karin Brushmarkers and then fussy cut it out.
For the backdrop I diecut a piece of Clairefontaine DCP 250 gsm cardstock with the Nesting Postage Dies by Waffle Flower and covered it in a light blend of Pinkfresh Studio Aquamarine ink. I then used the Snowflakes Background stencil (also by Waffle Flower) and blended that same ink through the stencil but with fuller coverage. I rotated the stencil a little bit and added more snowflakes with Gina K Designs Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel. Before assembling my card I stamped the sentiments right onto my cardbase. I propped the snowflake panel up on a piece of cardboard and adhered the bunny on some foam tape!
That finishes up this card! Please let me know if you have any questions. Make sure to follow me on Instagram, I post a new card every day! And subscribe to me on YouTube for video tutorials.
