Reverse Confetti Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends! I’m joining another lovely little hop for Reverse Confetti. Make sure to hop along by following the links at the bottom of this post for more information!

For this card I started by making a rainbow background. To make it a little bit more interesting and to give the background a bit more texture I did ink smooshing instead of ink blending. I used various Pinkfresh Studio inks and I just pressed the ink cubes onto a slick surface (a laminated sheet of white cardstock will do the trick!), sprayed them with water and pressed a piece of Canson Montval 200 gsm watercolor cardstock into it. I then heatset it and did it all over again a couple more times to get a nice full coverage.

I did work on a panel that was larger than I needed it to be so I wouldn’t have to worry about covering the edges with ink. I trimmed it down to the size I wanted it (3 x 6 inch) and then put it in my Misti to start stamping. I used a sentiment from the Retro Holidays stamp set by Reverse Confetti and all the snowflake stamps from the Snowflake Season stamp set by Reverse Confetti. I stamped it all in Versamark ink (stamping everything twice to make it nice) and embossed it with WOW Metallic Gold Sparkle embossing powder.

I heatset it from the back to make sure the glitter wouldn’t go flying everywhere. And did that all a couple more times until my background was covered in snowflakes. I added a frame with a black fineliner and adhered it onto 5 thick pieces of scrap cardstock to prop it up onto my mini slimline (3.5 x 6.5 inch) cardbase.
