Hello crafty friends! I’m back with another mini slimline card. I’ve absolutely fallen in love with this card size. It’s so cute and fun.
For this card I started out by stamping the images from the Sky’s The Limit stamp set by Jane’s Doodles onto some Canson Montval 200 gsm watercolor cardstock. I stamped everything at once using my Misti stamping tool and the Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then embossed all the images with WOW Clear Gloss Super Fine embossing powder.
For once I’m not coloring it all in with the Karin Brushmarkers I’ve grown to love so much but with my regular Mijello Mission Gold watercolor set. I don’t like the browns in the Karin Markers, so it’s not the best for critters in my opinion. After I colored them all in I fussycut them out and set them aside. I die cut a light blue cardstock with one of the rectangle dies in the Essentials Mini Slimline die set by Pinkfresh Studio and a matting layer (1/4 inch larger on each side) from a darker blue cardstock.
I then used 4 blue Concord & 9th inks (Aqua Sky, Oceanside, Peacock and Midnight) and the MFT Rolling Clouds stencil to stencil clouds in the top left and bottom right corners of the panel. I start higher up in the panel with the lightest shade and work my way to the corners with the darker colors. I put all that together with foam tape, propping everything up for extra dimension and then made a matching envelope using my 1-2-3 Punchboard by We R Memory Keepers. I used a specialty light blue paper with flecks of gold and silver foil in it and did the same kind of cloud stenciling on it.
