Alex Syberia Designs “Sunkissed Memories” June Release Blog Hop and Giveaway

There is a sunny new collection over at Alex Syberia Designs and you know what that means! Lots of celebrations, hops and GIVEAWAYS!

To kick off this release I figured I should absolutely share more than one card, so I made two cards with one of the gorgeous critter stamp sets! This one is called Pengu-tastic Holiday and I had so much fun with it. I colored in some of the critters, cut them out with the coordinating dies and then got to assembling my cards.

For the first one I just had to use the stunning new Sunrays Hot Foil plate with the coordinating layering stencil set. I didn’t use all of the layering stencils, and I love how that easily gives you a completely different look! It’s foiled in Magenta foil from Spellbinders and I used orange and pink ink on two of the stencil layers. For the third layer I used the Glacier shimmer paste from Nuvo.

I die cut a tag from the new Signature Tags die set and blended a quick beach scene on it. I added my surfing penguin and a palm tree on top along with one of the summery sentiments from the Sunkissed Memories stamp set. This sentiment stamp set also has a coordinating die set to make things easy for you! I backed the tag with a second tag cut from vellum for a little extra pazzazz and tied a little bow on top. I trimmed my background down using the largest rectangle from the Nested Scalloped Frames die set and adhered it to my card. I added the tag on top with some foam tape and finished it off with a couple of gems.

For my second card I kept things very simple. I again used the Nested Scalloped Frames die set to cut two white rectangles with that gorgeous pierced detail all along the edge and I used some of the scalloped dies to create waves from vellum. I cut waves into three pieces of vellum and ink blended some blue on the back of them (ink takes a while to dry on vellum and if it’s on the backside, there’s less chance of smudging).

I propped my critter up in between the waves on some foam tape, added another sentiment from that Sunkissed Memories stamp set and finished it off with some bubble embellishments. I also added a ton of bubbles with white gel pen for a little extra detail.
